This unique piece of decorative art is quite substantial and very modern. The heavy ceramic top appears to float, improbably, on its metal base (from which it comes off easily, for storage or shipping). The textured grey, almost metallic background sets off the expressive line drawings of a man and a woman, who seem to know they can be seen yet are also enjoying a private intimate moment between themselves. What an artist can convey in several simple lines is impressive. Though not a mid-century piece, it is about 15-20 years old, and is in very good condition. We have no information about the artist or maker but we know it is a quality piece made with durable materials.
